The 12th Annual Motor State Challenge took take place July 16-18, beginning Thursday at Lane Automotive headquarters in Watervliet, MI, and continuing Friday and Saturday at South Haven’s GingerMan Raceway.
The event kicked off on Thursday at Lane Automotive headquarters with a street cruise through scenic SW Michigan, followed by an evening of great food, great stories, and great comradery. It continued Friday at GingerMan Raceway with a full day of road-course racing, then wraped up Saturday morning with the Tracksprint event, followed by lunch and the awards ceremony.
A perennial driver favorite, the Motor State Challenge has become a “must do” event for Pro-Touring drivers from across the US and Canada. For 2020, the Motor State Challenge was proud to introduce the #goDRIVEit class, sponsored by QA1, and specially designed for drivers who want to drive their vehicles to the track, race them, then drive them home. This new class honors the origins of Pro-Touring racing, when drivers often raced their daily drivers at informal weekend events.
Not a racer but love watching action-packed road racing? Come up to GingerMan and check out the fun!
We will post next year’s event dates and specifics when we have them confirmed.
