Craig has been with Motor State since 1983. He began his career working in the warehouse handling shipping and receiving duties. Eventually, Craig was encouraged to work in telephone sales while handling the purchasing duties on some product lines. In 1997 he was promoted to Office Manager.
Brent started at Motor State in 1990, after working in the retail industry for several years, including one year as a salesman at a local auto dealership. He enjoys everything automotive and is deeply involved in the restoration of several Ford automobiles including a 1985 Mercury Cougar XR-7, a 1971 Ranchero and a Ford powered mid-engine dune buggy.
Before joining the telephone sales team, Scott worked in warehousing and in purchasing. He is a circle track enthusiast and enjoys working on the pit crew for his father's factory stock and enduro dirt track cars. He also enjoys attending local car shows.
Ben joined the Motor State team in 2002 and has been a sales associate since 2004. Ben has been a long time competitor in motocross racing events in Michigan and Indiana and enjoys spending time with his family.
A graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio and a seasoned dirt modified racer, Bob came to Motor State after a two-year stint in an engine shop in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Bob earned an Associate's Degree in Automotive and Diesel Performance at UNOH. A native of Petoskey, Bob has raced his modified at Merritt Speedway and Cherry Raceway.
Troy came to work at Motor State in 1988 and has been actively involved in the high performance street and strip scene since he was old enough to drive. He has previously owned a high performance 1972 Chevy Nova 396 and a 1976 Camaro, powered by a modified small block.
Jon “Sonny” Beach joined the sales team in July of 2012. No stranger to the sport of circle track racing, Sonny has raced a USA Modified at several tracks around the eastern side of the state including Auto City, Owosso and Dixie Speedways. Now that he is transplanted on the western shore, he will be racing a super late model at Berlin Raceway.
Nick has been involved in all phases of the hot rod sport including stints as a drag racer, street rodder, muscle car builder and off-road enthusiast. Before joining the Motor State sales team, Nick worked for another speed equipment warehouse.
Pavement late models and limited late models, street rods, Corvettes, four-wheel drive trucks... Jerry has driven them all. A former Limited Late Model season champion at Kalamazoo Speedway, he has been a member of the Motor State sales team since 1996.
A third generation circle track racer, Bill followed in the footsteps of his father, and grandfather, who were also accomplished racers. Bill has an extensive background in automotive service and parts management and has been a racer, a builder and a car owner for over twenty years.
Chad relies upon a well-rounded performance automotive background with experience in four-wheel drive, off-road vehicles, boats and street machines. A dedicated family man, Chad has recently begun a full restoration of his first car, a 1970 Chevy Nova.
John is a drag racer and hot rodder who literally grew up in the hobby. He has campaigned a '27 altered drag car and built several street rods including a pair of '32 Ford high boy roadsters. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.S. Degree in Marketing.
Steve came to the Motor State sales team right after receiving an Associate's Degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio. A talented, savvy circle track driver, Steve and his dad race a Super Late Model in the weekly NASCAR Series at Kalamazoo Speedway.
Before joining Motor State, in June 2005, Brad managed the parts department at a large street rod and fiberglass body manufacturer for five years. Brad enjoys driving his '69 Ford Torino GT and is a regular participant at area car shows.
Equally at home with drag race, circle track and street performance parts, Bryan is an all-around motor sports enthusiast. A devoted family guy, he has owned, raced and street driven a potent street/strip '68 Camaro and is now working on a 440-powered '68 Dodge Dart.
Involved in sales at Motor State since 1988, Brian is an Outlaw Pro Mod drag racer as well as an accomplished engine builder and fabricator. He is an authority on all areas of engine technology, particularly those pertaining to drag racing.
Like his dad, and his grandfather, Eddie has spent considerable time in the cockpit of a sprint car. He is now paving the way for the fourth generation of Smith racers by serving as crew chief on his son's sprint car. He enjoys helping customers and making new friends along the way.
Joe Stewart's customers have relied upon his expert engine, driveline and automotive machine advice since the mid-1970's. Joe likes to attend as many circle track races as he can at local tracks, and also looks forward to deer hunting season each year.
Paul's daily driver is an all-wheel drive Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that boasts over 500 horsepower. He is currently engineering and designing his own four-wheel drive conversion on a Eagle Talon that he plans to drag race. Paul is well-versed in the building and tuning of DSM's.
A member of the Motor State sales team since 1989, Tim calls upon over a quarter century of experience in auto parts and machine shop service to provide customers with accurate information and products. Over the years, he has owned a Corvette and several four-wheel drive trucks and can usually be found working in his garage in his spare time.
With experience driving everything from factory stock to modifieds to late models, on dirt and on asphalt, Mike is an accomplished racer with lots of knowledge to share with racing customers. Away from work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, building race cars and riding motorcycles.
