The Motor State Challenge was once again an incredible weekend of competition and camaraderie. Participants travelled from throughout the United States to take part in this annual competition. Thanks to picture perfect weather over 80 participants made this edition of the Motor State Challenge one of the largest in its seven-year history.
The three-day event began on Thursday with a sixty-mile trip through the southwest Michigan countryside with a slow cruise through downtown St. Joseph, Michigan and historic Silver Beach. The trip ended at Warren Dunes State Park for a beach party barbecue cooked and served by the Allstar Performance team. Guests also took advantage of the beautiful Lake Michigan sand dune beach backdrop for numerous photo sessions. Thanks to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Motorcycle Unit for their VIP escort the entire route to the beach.
Day two had 70 entries spend the day at the 2.1 mile Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Michigan. The track day gave each competitor six separate sessions to turn laps and improve their lap times throughout the day.
The final day of the event saw 75 competitors head to Tire Rack in South Bend, Indiana for a final day of autocross competition. The event finished with numerous class and special awards as well as the awarding of the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational Certificate. See below for full list of results.
The seventh annual Motor State Challenge was sponsored in part by: Allstar Performance, Optima Batteries, Ridetech, Detroit Speed, Aeroquip, ARP, Holley, QA1, Magnaflow, Edelbrock, K&N Filters, MSD Performance, Wilwood, C & R Racing, Royal Purple, and Hawk Performance
A special thank goes to the South Bend Region of the SCCA for all their support and hard work ensuring the two days of competition were safe as well as extremely enjoyable for everyone.
